Jubin Nautiyal is making waves in the Caribbean. The Humma Song singer was in Trinidad and Tobago recently for a stage performance. And that was where he shot his new music video for a single called Teri Manzilein Ho, his second since Haaye Dil. We spoke to him about the video and what it means to him and the reason he makes music...

So, what’s the new music video about...
It’s for a song called Teri Manzilein Ho. You could call it a fun, romantic, experimental song.

Are you collaborating with any Trinidadian singers?
No. The song was produced in India. Trinidad will only feature as the location. Otherwise, it’s a made-in-India track.

Any known names in the video apart from you?
I work to express, not to impress. It is a simple song with lyrics by Mudassar Aziz and music by Rocky-Shiv. I’m continuing with them after the success of Haaye Dil. The track as been beautiful arranged and programmed by Imaad Shah.

When can we expect a launch for TMH?
We want to launch it as soon as possible. Will be sitting on the edit table soon. Hoping for the best. I’m excited to see what we shot in Trinidad.

Two well received songs. Both shrouded in controversy. How are you dealing with it?
My intentions are clean and my heart is pure towards the music that I am associating with. I don’t care about controversies, my fans believe in me and family and friends believe in me. My team believes in me, my music label believes in me. That is more than enough.

Will you be open to doing a recreated track again?
It depends. Maybe if I’m confident that I can make the recreated track mine. But I want to avoid it as much as I can.
Considering everyone is doing it now, won’t the effect will be diluted?
I just work honestly on whatever I choose. And when I put my heart to it, the conviction of my work reaches the hearts of the people who listen to me.
