Music director Devi Sri Prasad is busy with his films, but still made time to attend the IIFA Utsavam. He had a quick chat with dna on the sidelines of the event. When asked why he wasn't doing Suriya's Singam 3, he revealed, "Suriya is like a brother to me. There are numerous reasons as to why I am not doing the film. We were to work on a film but then the project became Singam 3. Then Suriya said we'll do another film, so we should be working together in the future."

There are so many new music directors who come up each year but very few survive. The music director says, "I think you need both talent and hard work to survive. I was working on the IIFA Utsavam event performance last evening when I got a call from the Sardaar Gabbar Singh team that they wanted a song urgently. I worked through the night and delivered the song at 5 am. I just got two hours of sleep. Pawan Kalyan sent me a message saying he loved the song and that he was very happy with my dedication as I delivered it overnight. I think this is what is important - when you get some work, it doesn't matter how many other things you are doing at the time, you need to work hard and deliver. That is what sustains you."

Devi Sri Prasad also revealed that he is known for his melodies in Telugu cinema, and though he has composed some beautiful melody songs for Tamil films too, they get overshadowed by his peppy numbers. "When a film is being marketed, they use the peppy numbers and this is what is played on TV and radio, etc. So people think I do only peppy numbers in Tamil but that's not true," he says.
