Deepika Padukone won’t be a part of the Hindi remake of the Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie-starrer action-comedy Mr & Mrs Smith (2005). Right now she is only doing Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama titled Padmavati. Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh also star in the SLB film.

Buzz is that the Hindi remake of Mr & Mrs Smith will have Sidharth Malhotra opposite Deepika in the male lead playing Mr Smith. The Hollywood film was directed by Doug Liman and showed Pitt and Jolie as  an upper-middle class married couple who learns that in real life they are assassins belonging to competing agencies, and have been assigned to kill each other.

Earlier, it was also reported that Deepika will be walking the red carpet at Oscars this year, but the actress refuted those reports as well, while hinting that she may not be attending the Academy Awards this time.
