Twinkle Khanna is now popular among fans for her books and satirical columns and she says her father always knew about her hidden talent.

The 43-year-old star, who became India's highest-selling female writer of 2015 with her book 'Mrs Funnybones', says her actor father Rajesh Khanna always wanted her to write.

"Dad always said I should be a writer -- was proud of my maggot filled poetry -- would've been beaming that I got that paper in my hand eventually," Twinkle posted on Twitter on, while sharing one of her articles.

It has been more than 16 years since Twinkle has appeared in any film, she was last seen on the big screen in the movie "Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega".

She has recently ventured into production with "Pad Man" starring Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte.
