At the Bafta Awards this year, Dev Patel emerged victorious and won the Best Supporting Actor Award for his terrific performance in Lion. But little did people know that soon, there will be a huge blooper on the way.
British brand Burberry confused Riz Ahmed to be Dev Patel and tweeted Riz's picture with the caption, "Celebrating the #EEBAFTAs in London this evening, Best Actor in a Supporting Role winner #DevPatel wears a @Burberry custom made navy tuxedo."
Soon, Twiterrati had a field day and the brand was mercilessly slammed on social media for their big mistake. Here are few of the tweets -
Burberry just confused @RizMC for Dev Patel because all brown people look the same? This is why we need to diversify our media. pic.twitter.com/d4iIITHNdo
