After continuously being on stage for 17 years, Rahul Da Cunha's English-language play I'm Not Bajirao is getting the Bollywood treatment. Boss director Tony d'Souza has bought the film rights to the iconic play, which is about two life-long friends, a Parsi and a Maharashtrian.

Boman Irani, who played the Parsi gent on stage, reprises his role for the bada pardah, but it remains to be seen who will play the part made popular by the late Sudhir Joshi until his death in 2005. While Tony remains non-committal about his casting decisions, one learns that the Big B has been approached to play the lead. Says Tony, "Yes, I've bought the rights to the play and I am in the process of casting.

The script is complete. One of the actors has been finalised. I'll announce the two actors as soon as they're both finalised."
