After high drama over Udta Punjab, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has refused to give a green signal to two other Hindi films -- Haraamkhor and Saat Uchakkey.

While Haramkhor has reportedly been refused certification for its theme, which is the story of a relationship between a teenage student and a teacher, Saat Uchakkey has been refused clearance for the use of cuss words. Interestingly, Shlok Sharma's Haramkhor was selected for screening at the Mumbai film festival last year.

While the Information and Broadcasting is still reviewing the Shyam Benegal committee on the revamp of CBFC and the prospect of an amendment to the archaic Cinematograph Act, CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani said the producers of the movie are free to approach the film tribunal on the judgement.

"I have not seen the film. It was the decision of the examining committee to refuse clearance of the films. I cannot comment on the decision of the committee," Nihalani told dna.

He added, "We have issued a show cause notice to the producers. If they do not agree to the CBFC's decision, they can approach the FCAT."
