It was a deal that ensured no looking back for Priyanka Chopra when she won the Miss World pageant in 2000.

On this day, she celebrates her 34th birthday as one of the leading actress and female icon of India.

Over the years, she was seen in a roster of films, some of which have made their places on the list of bests in the Indian film industry.

Till date, Priyanka Chopra has received, a National Film Award, five Filmfare Awards, a Padma Shri, besides many more. In 2016, she was listed in the 100 most influential people in the world, by TIME magazine.

Based loosely on the 2011 Hollywood film, 'Disclosure', the film starring Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor, is the story of a man accused of sexual harassment of his female superior. At the 50th Filmfare Awards, Priyanka Chopra received two nominations, Best Supporting Actress and Best Performance in a Negative Role, of which she won the latter, making her the second actress to hold the award since Kajol, at that time. It was also a risk for a fairly newbie in Bollywood to take up a negative character and essay it perfectly.
