The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) will help the retired Indo Tibetan Border Police personnel and family members to enhance their skill sets that will boost job prospects for them.

A tripartite agreement in this regard was signed today among the National Skill Development Fund, National Skill Development Corporation and Indo Tibetan Border Police Force and is targeted for five years till 2022.

"This is our endeavour to give back to these personnel by training them on skill sets and creating opportunities for them which are equivalent to their current capacity and also creating training and job prospects for their family members," Union Minister for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy said while addressing the MoU signing event here.

"The training for service personnel will be aligned with the National Occupational Standards developed by the Sector Skill Council to enhance their employability and acceptability by the Industry," Rudy added.

"With this agreement, our forces will be equipped with formal certificate on their skills. This agreement is going to be beneficial for both the parties," Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju said.

The objective of the project is to ensure successful roll out of National Skills Qualifications Framework based skill training to retired, retiring, ITBPF personnel and their families.

The training will be provided to the personnel through NSDF-CSR fund.
