Tughlakabad man nabbed for murders

The accused has been identified as Narender, a resident of Tughlakabad. The arrest was made during the early hours on Saurday, when a police team deployed at a picket near Loha-Mandi in Naraina spotted an auto-rickshaw coming from Ring Road side around 2 am.

Police have arrested a 36-year-old wanted murderer involved in a number of killings for disputed property cases. They said that the accused was wanted in about eight cases of murders and attempts to murder.

The accused has been identified as Narender, a resident of Tughlakabad. The arrest was made during the early hours on Saurday, when a police team deployed at a picket near Loha-Mandi in Naraina spotted an auto-rickshaw coming from Ring Road side around 2 am. As the staff signalled the driver of the auto to stop, he instead stopped much before the picket and took a reverse turn.

“On this, the staff immediately started chasing the auto. Seeing the police team inching closer, the miscreants in the auto left their vehicle and started running away in order to escape. Following a long chase, the police team succeeded in apprehending one of the two men, who was later identified as Narender while his associates and auto driver managed to flee with the auto. On frisking him, one loaded .32 bore pistol was recovered from him,” said Vijay Kumar, DCP west.

Interrogations disclosed that his associates who managed to escape was Tarun. He further disclosed that he has been arrested in two cases of murder. “In one case he shot dead three people but was acquitted since the witnesses turned hostile. He said, that along with Tarun he used to deal in disputed properties located in the area of Govindpuri, Neb Sarai, Tuglakabad etc. and purchase these at half or less than actual price,” the DCP said.
