The Delhi University (DU) on Wednesday released its fourth cut-off for admissions in undergraduate courses with no more seats available in general category, of most colleges.

Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur (SGTB) Khalsa College, which had announced the highest cut-off in the first list has seats still available for both the general as well as the reserved categories. The cut-off for BSc Electronics at SGTB is 93.33 per cent, which closed the cut-off in the first list at 96.96.

Some colleges including Maitrey and Shivaji re-opened admissions in some courses for general category against the cancellation.

After the third list, English (Honours) was closed in at least five colleges, including Dyal Singh, Gargi, and Satyawati College. "Those looking for a seat in History (Honours) in the forthcoming list have a lesser chance of getting one as nearly 18 colleges gave shut admission for the course," the official said.

Similarly, as many as 14 colleges had also closed admission for Political Science (H), 13 in BSc (Mathematics) and nine in BSc (Physics).

This year, DU received around 2.2 lakh applications for nearly 56,000 seats in its 63 colleges.

A lot of applications have been withdrawn after the third cut-off list. One of the senior varsity officials cited this as the reason for availability of seats in several courses in these colleges.
