The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has summoned three Gurugram police officers on Saturday in connection with the Ryan International School murder case.

Media reports quoted CBI sources as saying that the police officers have been summoned by the CBI because it wants to investigate the initial probe, which led to the arrest of bus conductor Ashok, who the CBI says is innocent.

The three officers were part of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that was formed to question the accused. Seven-year-old Pradyuman, a student of Ryan International School at Bhondsi, was found in a pool of blood with his throat slit inside the school premises on September 8, last year.

Following his death, the Gurugram Police arrested the bus conductor of one of the school buses, Ashok Kumar, on charges of murder.

The case was later handed over to the CBI who gave a clean chit to Ashok and held a Class 11 student responsible for the murder. Last month, a Child Special Court also acquitted Ashok.

The police had registered an FIR against the bus conductor under IPC section 302 (murder), section 25 of the Arms Act and Section 12 of POCSO Act on September 8. Ashok was granted bail on November 21.

Two officials of the school, Francis Thomas and Jayesh Thomas, currently out on bail, booked under JJ Act for negligence in the safety and security of the children in the school were directed to appear before the court on April 10.

Meanwhile, the school safety committee held its second meeting on Friday and discussed the report on the first round of checks carried out at a number of city schools earlier. The committee decided to inspect Ryan International School, Bhondsi, and DPS-Sector 45 once again.

The next draw of schools to be checked April 15 onwards has also been fixed. A total of 15 schools, including Heritage School, Blue Bells School, and DAV Police Public School would be inspected in the next round.

The reports will be sent to the respective school. While the schools, found to be following the rules, will be appreciated, while those failing will be issued strict guidelines by the education department.
