Question Hour sees members raising public welfare issues

On the day before Holi festival, public welfare related issues were raised by the members of assembly during the question hour and in zero hour.

At the start of the question hour, speaker Kailash Meghwal greeted the members on the occasion of Holi festival and said “aap sabko holi ki thitholi par vidhansabha ko titholi ka manch mat banao,” he said to the members.

A total of 6 questions could only be taken up during the question hour. Medical and health minister Kalicharan Saraf said on Wednesday that increasing the number of beds in government hospitals depends on the basis of occupancy. He said if there is 100 % occupancy, then increasing the number of beds is considered. He was replying to the questions raised by members in the house during the question hour.

Giving the details, he informed that the number of indoor patients in Jawaharlal Nehru government hospital in Nagaur in 2014 was 29,647; in 2015 it was 27,455; in 2016 it was 29,597 and in 2017 it was 31,497. He said that here the occupancy is 58.8% and if there is more need then it will be considered. He assured the house that in next 15 days the scarcity of doctors will be fulfilled. Before this, while replying to the main question of BJP MLA Habibur Rehman Asharfi Lamba, Saraf gave the details of the patients registered in outdoor and indoor in government Jawaharlal Nehru hospital , Nagaur between 2014-2017.

Saraf informed that in Nagaur there are 150 beds approved. In 2014 the occupancy rate was 56.10 % while in 2015 it was 51.71 %. In 2016 it was 55.53% and in 2017 it was 58.8% therefore increasing the number of beds is not under consideration.

Later, during the zero hour, Bassi MLA Anju Dhanka spoke about the condition of cows in Hingonia gaushala even after being given to private party.

A total of 6 questions could only be taken up during the question hour. Medical and health minister Kalicharan Saraf said that increasing the number of beds in govt hospitals depends on the basis of occupancy.
