The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has asked for a report from the Noida police and told them to take action against a sub-inspector who had beaten up an engineer Shivansh Srivastava on January 27 this year. The sub-inspector, Vijender Bhadana, who is from Noida Sector 49 police station, had beaten up the man after he tweeted about a road in Noida.

Talking to DNA, the victim said that he hoped the involvement of the PMO would result in action. "Ironically even after found guilty in the internal probe, no action has been taken against Bhadana," he said.

Talking about his experience, Srivastava said that on January 27, he was returning home to Noida Sector 41 from Noida Phase II when he saw a biker slip near the Barola crossing.

"I rushed to help him. Then I saw more motorcycles slipping at the spot. Some people noticed a slippery chemical on the road, which was leading to the accidents. I dialed 100 and tweeted to the UP DGP and a police van reached the spot some 15-20 minutes later. The cops, however, said no action was required as nobody was injured or had died," he said.

Srivastava added that he had tweeted to then UP DGP Javeed Ahmed regarding the poor state of a road, which was leading to accidents in Noida. Soon afterwards, he claimed, a cop contacted him and allegedly thrashed him for the tweet.

"Within minutes, Sub-Inspector Vijender Bhadana reached in a private SUV and started beating me. I sustained an injury on my leg. The cops then took me to Sector 49 police station and forced me to sit with criminals on the ground," he added.

Srivastava also alleged that the cop forced him to write an 'apology letter' mentioning that the tweet was false.

After he complained to UP top cops, an internal inquiry was conducted by the police in February where Bhadana was found guilty. "He and two other sub-inspectors (who had come in the car with Bhadana) should have been transferred or suspended immediately but nothing happened," said Srivastava.
