From getting all the star campaigners on ground to visiting parks, malls, markets and streets, the political leaders are doing every last bit to woo the voters as the campaigning for the municipal elections enters its last leg. The civic polls are scheduled to be held this Sunday.

On Tuesday, Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Manoj Tiwari visited the JJ clusters in Gheora, Mundka, Haiderpur, Shalimar Bagh, and Rohini. The party's star campaigners -- Bhojpuri actors Ravi Kishan, Khesari lal Yadav, and Shubhi Sharma -- conducted intensive campaigns on the east Delhi streets. In the evening, the three attended public meetings in Greater Kailash, Kasturba Nagar, Malviya Nagar, and R K Puram, among other areas.

In all areas, massive crowds gathered in the streets and up on the roofs to catch a glimpse of the actors. Targeting the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress, Tiwari said, "Both the parties had promised regularisation of unauthorised colonies and providing pucca houses to slum dwellers. They did nothing except fooling people."

"The MCD elections are a matter of prestige for Purvanchalis, whose contribution will be counted while electing better candidates, who respect the people from the region," said Kishan, while speaking to the people from a truck-top in east Delhi's Shahdara area.

BJP leader and former corporator Satish Upadhyay spoke to morning walkers in a south Delhi park, interacting with them about their issues in everyday life. He assured them that if voted to power again, the BJP will provide world-class solutions to problems such as sanitation and waste management.

Similarly, Congress roped in yesteryear actor Raj Babbar for the last two days of campaigning in areas such as Munirka, Sangam Vihar, Govindpuri, and Uttam Nagar, among others.

The Congress candidate from Andrews Ganj, Abhishek Dutt, who is the incumbent in the area, could be seen playing cricket with the colony's local boys' team. After playing some overs, he talked to the boys about the functioning of a municipal body and the works undertaken by him in the area. Meanwhile, the party's youth wing workers reached out to students in colleges across the city.
