Vikram Wadhwa, better known as Vicky bhaiyya, continues to be the "best teacher" for Mathematics and Economics for his students. Although Wadhwa was booked for leaking the Class X Mathematics paper of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the students still hold him in high esteem, refusing to believe that their Vicky bhaiyya could do something as "unethical".
The institute run by him, Vidya Coaching Centre in Rajender Nagar, is a landmark that everyone knows because this is where most of the students appearing in board examinations come to prepare for Mathematics and Economics.
As parents and students gathered around the tuition center, they talked in hushed tones about Wadhwa's alleged involvement in the paper leak. However, one thing that they agree in unison is his teaching skills and dedication towards his students. "Wadhwa, who has been running the tuition center for over seven years now, is addressed as 'bhaiyya' by a lot of students 'out of affection'," says Rajinder Kohli, who runs a small business nearby. All of us know him because he is the best teacher one can get for Maths. He gives confidence even to his weak est students. We have seen him toiling hard for all of his students," he claims.
His students, who are in limbo about the future of their tuitions now that the center has been sealed and police deployed at the spot, however, have rallied behind their teacher. All of his students speak of his diligence towards them, refusing to miss a single class. "It is unbelievable. He cannot leak papers. Vicky bhaiyya is a very good teacher and human being. There is something amiss here," says a Class XI student of Economics, who claimed to have scored 99 marks in Class X last year because of Wadhwa.
Another student, who did not wish to be named, also supported Wadhwa's clean track record and said, "He has always been considerate and gentle towards us. He cannot be behind this."
