Two days after the death of seven-year-old Ghazal Yadav, a Class-II student of Greater Noida's DPS World School, police registered a case against the school and its principal on Friday. The police have registered a case of death due to rash and negligent act based on a complaint made by the girl's father.

Lal Chand Yadav, the father of the student, has alleged in the complaint that he found the girl's lips were swollen.

He has stated that his daughter lost her life due to carelessness of the school management.

However, the school administration said the girl had complained of severe headache when she reached school in the morning and later participated in a Taekawondo competition after which she fainted. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead.

On Friday, the parents of the deceased girl along with other residents of their society reached DPS World School and asked the school management to tell them the sequence of events. The parents sought CCTV footage of the events, but they were not given the same by the school management.

"We tried to make it clear to the parents. I showed them the pictures and videos of the Karate competition. In school there are 13 CCTV cameras. Sports arena is newly constructed, therefore we do not have any camera there," Principal Jyoti Arora said.

However, Ghazal's parents refused to believe the school administration. They alleged that the school authorities delayed providing medical aid to Ghazal.

On Wednesday, Ghazal's father Lal Chand Yadav said he was in office when he received a call from his wife to rush to Kailash Hospital. "By the time I reached the hospital, Ghazal had already died. Doctors told me she was brought dead," Yadav said. He also alleged that both the school and the hospital are trying to hide the facts.

"A case has been registered against the school. Further investigations are in progress. Forensic team has collected the samples from the spot," said Avdesh Awasthi, SHO Ecotech-3.
