With only few days left for the municipal elections, political parties in the Capital are putting their best foot forward to woo voters. The Congress, which made a comeback with their win in Punjab, is hoping to steal the show in the polls scheduled for April 23. So in next few weeks, don't be surprised if you find senior Congress leaders accompanying residents during their morning walk, discussing civic issues.

"We are focusing on innovative ways to attract voters. Gone are the days when the public was happy with only traditional ways of campaigning. We have identified few parks in Delhi, which are crowded in the morning. We will take a walk with morning walkers and address their issues," said Sharmishtha Mukherjee, Delhi Congress spokesperson.
From Central park to Nehru park, these senior leaders will take a walk with Delhites. The party has already come out with a blueprint for issues like solid waste management and the environment.

"We have also worked on the city's health and education system. We are focusing on the solutions this time," she added.
The party has also organised flashmobs in various parts of the city. The first flashmob took place at Rajouri Garden on Wednesday and more than 500 such flashmobs are already planned.

"There are five teams working on the plan with 10 members in a team. We will target crowded places in various constituencies daily and then start the performance. It will be a four-minute act in which we will also engage with the general public," said Vijay Sharma from Saaz Foundation.

The foundation has trained volunteers from the party for the flashmob.

The Grand Old Party has been facing a tough time with veteran leaders like Dr AK Walia threatening to quit the party. Unhappy with the ticket distribution, Walia and other senior leaders like Haroon Yusuf, openly criticised the top leadership.
