The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday replaced its 14 candidates for the upcoming Municipal polls for allegedly spreading "dissent" among the party members. The party leadership refrained from giving any reason behind the changes. "The party has mutually decided not to disclose the reason behind the decision," said AAP Delhi convenor Dilip Pandey.

However, sources in the party said the decision was taken on the basis of a ground report. "These candidates were spreading dissent among the party members and their ground reports were not up to the mark," a party official said.

The constituencies which will have new candidates include Rajouri Garden, Kalkaji, Chandni Chowk, Matia Mahal, Sadar Bazar, Adarsh Nagar, Nangloi Jat, Shalimar Bagh and Badarpur among others. Earlier on Tuesday, AAP had also cancelled the ticket of its Dwarka candidate for having a criminal case against him.
