Even after 72 hours, Delhi Police remains clueless on a suspicious man's whereabouts, who is from terror-hit Guinea-Bissau and who managed to get through immigration at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

A senior police officer probing the matter said that officials in Guinea-Bissau embassy have been approached for further verifications since the address mentioned in the passenger's disembarkation card turned out to be false, following a raid.

Police also said that the footage of the man, who had introduced himself as Gomez Julio, a native of Guinea-Bissau, a country strongly affected by terror modules Boko Haram and ISIS, has been circulated to various police stations across the Capital. They said that since the man's identity could not be confirmed, his free movement in the city was a matter of serious concern.

Minutes after the incident, Delhi Police and airport immigration had also roped in intelligence agencies, alerting them to the man's dramatic escape.

DNA had exclusively reported on Tuesday that the man had arrived at the Delhi Airport on Sunday around 10.30 am, by an Ethiopian Airlines flight and approached the immigration department for an e-visa, but since Guinea Bissau, a West African country, is not listed among the countries eligible for e-visa, he was refused a visa and detained. It was when the department got busy in "entry refused formalities," he managed to change his get up and walk out of the arrival terminal, without coming to the immigration officer's notice.

"His pictures have widely been shared at all major airports so he cannot escape. His documents that he had left behind are being closely read. Officials in his country of origin have also been approached. Meanwhile vigil to nab him has been significantly stepped up in the city. Ports, railway stations, bus terminals and airports have been put on alert and his information has been shared," a senior Delhi Police officer said.

After the passenger had managed to enter India without any valid document or Visa, immigration officers filed an FIR with the Delhi Police.

An officer from the airport said that those detained by immigration are kept in a room beyond the immigration area at the arrival terminal which made it easier for the man to escape.
