Sacked Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra, on Thursday, vacated the government bungalow allotted to him when he was a part of the Cabinet. Mishra who was removed from Delhi government on May 6, was asked by the Public Works department (PWD) to vacate the house at the earliest.

DNA on June 18 had reported about the letter written by the PWD to the disgruntled minister for vacating the house. According to sources, there are two contenders for the bungalow- newly appointed Water and Tourism Minister Rajender Pal Gautam and Environment Minister Imran Hussain.

"It will depend on who is willing to reside in that bungalow. The decision is yet to be taken," said a senior Delhi government official.

The land for Hussain's house at DDU Marg in Delhi has been identified by Delhi High Court for conversion into a family court.

The plot - Bungalow No. 217, Rouse Avenue was allocated to the Delhi High Court for a Family Court around seven to eight years back. But the court authorities were trying for a land adjacent to a district court in New Delhi. The PWD has prepared a layout and sent it to the officials for the further approval.

PWD Minister Satyendar Jain had written a letter to the PWD in June instructing them to evict Mishra from his house at the earliest. "His name is still outside the house. As he is no more a Delhi government minister, he shouldn't be allowed to stay in the government residence house," Jain wrote in his letter to the department.

The former minister had claimed to have witnessed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal accepting Rs 2 crore in bribe from Health Minister Satyendar Jain last week.

He had then filed a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Branch in this regard. Following this stunning allegation, Mishra was suspended from the AAP's primary membership.
