Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia found himself in a fresh controversy as his Twitter handle reflected re-tweets on posts describing activist Anna Hazare as a "BJP agent" and "fraud." Sisodia was quick to clarify claiming that his Twitter account was hacked on Saturday.

The tweets, however, were later removed from his account. "My account hacked. Someone retweeting anti-Anna Hazare message from my account. Trying to delete them, not even getting deleted," (sic) Sisodia said in a series of tweets. "Please don't believe them. I have greatest respect for Annaji. Can never say such things against him," (sic) he tweeted further.

Recently, Hazare had blamed Kejriwal's "overambitious" nature behind AAP's humiliating defeat in Delhi civic polls. "People gave him a mandate and he got an opportunity to turn Delhi into a model state. Once you sit in the chair you lose your own power of thinking," Hazare had said. He added that AAP leaders were losing their credibility as they could not fulfil their promises of doing away with official perks.

AAP has faced a series of electoral losses in state elections and now a humiliating defeat in the recently held MCD elections on their home turf — Delhi. The party could register victories in only 48 wards of a total 270.

This is not the first time that Anna Hazare has been critical of Kejriwal. Recently after the Shunglu panel report that questioned the government on several governance issues alleging misuse of power and favouring people close to AAP, Hazare had said that Kejriwal had disappointed him.

Anna Hazare was the face of the India Against Corruption movement back in 2011.

Sisodia and CM Kejriwal were active members of the movement that started demanding the setting up of an anti corruption body called Lokpal that would have more powers to fight graft. Later, Kejriwal along with some other active members of the party decided to enter active politics and formed AAP. The move did not find favour with Hazare.
