Despite clear government instructions to the contrary, several private schools operating on the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) land in the national Capital have been issuing forms for nursery admissions.

Schools including the Red Roses Public School, Laxmi Public School, Paramount School in Dwarka, Queens Valley School, and Gursharan Convent School in Paschim Vihar have started the online admission process.

After repeated calls to the Red Roses Public School, the authorities issued a notice stating that the admission process has been stopped. "Pre-school admission for the session 2017-18 has been stopped till further guidelines from the Directorate of Education (DoE)," said a notice on the school website.

At the same time, the Gursharan Convent School in Paschim Vihar has uploaded the criteria for admissions, even as the DOE is yet to issue its guidelines regarding the matter. Similarly, the Laxmi Public School in Karkardooma has put up an admission notification on its website, stating that the forms will be available from January 2, violating the DOE norms.

Rashi Kumar, a resident of Tilak Nagar, confirmed that the Venkateswar International School in Dwarka has also started the admission process from January 2. The notification, however, had been removed when DNA checked the school's website.

"The Venkateswar International School has been issuing forms online. I had scanned all the documents for the online form, which could be submitted from 9.30am-12.30pm on the website. But when I checked the website today, I found that the process has been stopped," said Rashi, who is seeking admission for her 3-year-old daughter Nysa.

Meanwhile, confusion prevailed for the third day of nursery admissions. Sumit Vohra, Founder of admissionnursery.com, said they have been flooded with queries from parents.

"We are getting several queries from parents, including whether to fill forms of particular schools or not. Then there are questions such as what is the guarantee that these schools will adhere to the awaited DoE guidelines, if they have started the admission process despite the DoE instructions, he said.

"Some parents are also scared that if new guidelines are issued and things get delayed, they might not get to apply in these schools," he added.

As many as 298 private schools operating on the DDA land have not yet received admission guidelines from the government, while 1,400 other schools have started the admission process from January 2.

The last date for filling the admission forms is January 23 and the first list of selected students will be displayed in February, followed by the second list in February end.
