Film enthusiasts are in a for a visual treat on the last weekend of this month as the Siri Fort auditorium opens its doors for screenings of timeless English movies at the World's Best Classic Movie Festival. Organised on May 27-28 by production house Navrasa Duende, the event will take cinema lovers back to Hollywood's Golden Age with works from master directors including Alfred Hitchcock and Frank Capra, making it a weekend well spent.

The festival which will have its maiden run in the Capital, aims at reviving the love for cult films from Hollywood that are lying buried in one's memory. Keeping this theme in mind, it brings a repository of timeless classics including thriller, romance, and comedy, screening movies like Hitchcock's Vertigo and The Man Who Knew Too Much along with Capra's It's a Wonderful Life and It Happened One Night.

Talking about the festival, Dinesh B. Singh, Founder, Navrasa Duende, said "Over the years, classic films have had a great influence on film-making and movie culture. The classics are a great way to get a sneak peek into another era and also show how not only cinema and its styles have changed with acting methods, sound, and effects, but also how society's cultural values have transformed."

He adds, "This is evident in the stories and plot themes of these films that delve into the nature of the human spirit. The timeless themes and memorable characters in these films have captured the hearts and imagination of viewers and influenced generations of film-makers after them."
