Two bike-borne youths broke the window of the car of Vijay Jolly, former Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Saket, and fled with his bag on Wednesday evening. The stolen items included important documents, such as letters to the Home Minister and the Transport Minister.

"We have registered a case under Section 379 (punishment for theft) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and further investigation is underway," a senior police officer said.

In his complaint to the police, Jolly said that he had parked his i20 car around 8 pm. "Just then, the right back side window pane of the car was broken and my shoulder bag was stolen. I saw two young boys riding a black Splendour motorcycle without a number plate," he said.

The bag had a Sony camera, perfume, a laptop with mouse and keyboard, a folder containing letters addressed to the Home Minister, the Transport Minister, the Lieutenant Governor, and the Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President.

In his complaint, Jolly also mentioned that residents in the area informed him that such incidents took place at the same location often. He has appealed to the police officers to keep a check on such incidents. No arrests have been made in the case, so far.
