After a Miranda House student took to the social media to reveal her horrific experience of sexual harassment during a concert in Delhi University's Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), the Delhi Police have been prompted to register a case in this regard. The BA (Honours) student had put up picture of her jeans with semen stains on them, alleging that a person ejaculated on her during the concert.

The student had gone to attend playback singer KK's concert during SRCC's annual fest, Crossroads, on Thursday. "I came home, and while changing my clothes, I spotted the white stains on my jeans. They looked and smelled like human discharge. Then I realised that the man who was feeling me up during the concert had jerked off on me," she said in her post.

"Police have filed First Information Report (FIR) and have initiated an inquiry into the matter. The case will be handled by a woman inspector," DCP (north) Jatin Narwal said.

In her post, the student further said: "Concerts are for people to show their love for the person performing on stage. But some people cannot contain the excitement and feel the urge to jerk off right in the middle of the crowd, feel up your butt, and vanish in thin air." While many lauded her for bringing the incident to the fore, others questioned her intention.

Unwilling to be bogged down by the social media trolls, she went on answering each and every comment. Later on Sunday, she put up another post, stating: "I have filed both sexual harassment and cyberbullying complaints. Every threat, troll, meme, abuse, is going to be taken into account by the police. I have also submitted my jeans for forensic investigation."

Recounting the incident, she said: "I, along with two of my friends, had formed a human-chain to avoid any inappropriate touch with anybody. In a while, the accused moved forth and stood to my right. He kept trying to get close to me. Finally, I pushed him hard enough to make him fall."

"I did not see that guy and don't have any material evidence to find out who he was. The least I can do is take a stand for myself. I just want people to know that people like these exist and they stoop down to this level," she added.

Every year, several such cases of sexual harassment or eve-teasing are reported by girl students in the university, especially during festivals.
