A 23-year-old woman along with two of her associates were arrested on Wednesday night for murdering national-level boxer Jitendra Mann, who was found dead at his Greater Noida residence. The police have seized the murder weapon, too.

According to police, the accused have been identified as Shrishti Gupta, who shot the boxer, her ex-boyfriend Imran, and another accomplice Nafees. Gupta hatched the conspiracy with them to murder Jitendra Mann as he was allegedly blackmailing her over an MMS and demanded money against leaking the same.

"After recovering Mann's body from his flat, we scanned the CCTV footage of the society and found that a woman had entered it at around 12:30 pm and exited at 4:00 pm. Through technical surveillance and Mann's call details, we found that Mann was close to two-three females. The woman was later identified as Shrishti Gupta. Following a tip-off, we nabbed her along with two of her associates from Greater Noida," said Suniti Singh, Superintendent Of Police (Rural), Gautam Budh Nagar.

During interrogation, Gupta revealed that she was in a relationship with Mann and around a month ago he had shot an obscene video of her without her knowledge. On January 10, she went to his house and after having lunch with him, finding the right time she fired several rounds at him and fled the spot with his phone. Later on, she destroyed the phone on which the MMS was shot.

"She revealed that despite several requests, Mann refused to delete the video. So, in order to get rid of him, she took the help of Imran, who guided her and provided the weapon to carry out the crime," Singh added.

Police said Imran runs a slaughterhouse in Bulandshahr and gave her inputs to evade arrest.

They added that Mann had gone to the gym on the morning of January 10. However, his phone has been unreachable evening onwards. On January 12, Mann's family found him dead at his rented accommodation.

Mann had been working at Ultimate Fitness Academy in Alfa-1 for three years after he had suffered an injury during boxing. He was also associated with the Haryana State Boxing Association.
