A day after the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) registered three FIRs in the Public Works Department (PWD) scam involving Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's late brother-in-law Surender Bansal, the agency carried out raids at the PWD office. And he also recorded the statement of sacked minister Kapil Mishra into allegation that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had influenced the probe into a Rs 400 crore tanker scam.

The sacked minister reached at the ACB office at 12 pm and recorded his statement. Coming out of the office at around 1.30 pm, Mishra told reporters, "I have given them all the information and got my statement recorded. I will again go to the ACB office on Monday."

The ex-AAP leader is on a hunger strike demanding details of foreign trips by five prominent AAP leaders. He had visited the ACB office a few days ago and shared evidence related to the tanker scam that dates back to Sheila Dikshit's tenure as chief minister.

Mishra has alleged that the investigation into the tanker scam was repeatedly delayed and influenced by Kejriwal and his two men. Last year, Dikshit was examined by the ACB officials in connection with her alleged involvement in the tanker scam and was also handed over a set of 18 written questions.

Till some time back, Mishra had been accusing the BJP of shielding Dikshit in the case and later he alleged that the AAP government tried to shield her.

In the meantime, the ACB carried out raid at a regional office at Mukarba Chowk in outskirts of the city. "We carried out raids and collected evidences pertaining to a case registered on Wednesday," said ACB chief Mukesh Kumar Meena.

The ACB had also recorded the statement of the founder of Roads Anti-Corruption Organisation (RACO) Rahul Sharma on whose complaints it had registered three FIRs pertaining to the PWD scam. Mishra also filed the same complaint against Bansal and PWD officers.

Confirming the same, Meena said that three FIRs have been filed. "Names of fake companies were used to clear the bills when there was no work done. We have registered the case against Bansal and senior PWD officials. Separate cases have been filed because the bills were cleared by different companies for different works," he said.

The matter was also probed by the Economic Offence Wing of Delhi Police following a criminal complaint. The police have also filed its status report before a court in New Delhi two months ago into the matter
