Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), led by Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU), held a 'Tiranga march' on Monday to protest against the Left-affiliated students for allegedly supporting "anti-national" activities on the varsity campus. They also slammed some Ramjas College teachers for inviting Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Umar Khalid to an event.

Amid tight security, nearly 150 students took out a march from Ramjas College to the Arts Faculty, carrying a 180ft National Flag. They also raised slogans such as "Bharat ke gaddaron ko, jootey maaro saalon ko", and "Kashmir hamara hai, saara ka saara hai".

"We, the students of Delhi University, will not allow any anti-national activity on our campus. If anyone tries to do something against our nation, he or she will not be spared," DUSU General Secretary Ankit Singh Sangwan said, while addressing the protesters.

The protest march was organised a day ahead of the Left-affiliated All India Students' Association's (AISA) scheduled protest march against the ABVP for their alleged role in the violence that took place on the Ramjas campus on February 23. The clashes followed the cancellation of an invitation to JNU students Umar Khalid and Shehla Rashid Shora, after ABVP objected to the invite.

"If these anti-national elements come to our campus, ABVP will once again protest," Sangwan said.

Meanwhile, according to AISA, hundreds of students from DU, JNU, and other universities will join the protest march on Tuesday. Even members of the teachers' associations will participate in the march, which will begin around 12.30 pm from the Khalsa College.
