20-yr-old stabbed to death in Pul Prahladpur

A group of people stabbed a 20-year-old man to death and critically injured two of his relatives in southeast Delhi's Pul Prahladpur area, late on Tuesday evening. The police have arrested two of the men and personal enmity is being suspected to be the reason behind the attack.

According to the police, the incident was reported at the Pul Prahladpur police station at 8.30 pm. The caller said a violent scuffle had taken place near the Sunday Market at the Lal Kuan area. When a police team reached the spot, they found three injured persons — Rahul alias Dooda, Tara Chand, and Ramji Lal — and rushed them to the ESI hospital in Okhla.

"It was learnt from the hospital that one of the injured, Rahul, succumbed during treatment. The other two were referred to the Safdarjung hospital. Based on the primary probe, a case of murder and attempt to murder has been registered and hunt for the assailants is on," a senior police officer said.

DCP (southeast) Chinmoy Biswal said that local intelligence was gathered and after questioning a number of suspects and frequent raids, two accused — Danish alias Chintu, a resident of Nainital and Mohan Singh alias Tinku from Baghpat — were arrested from the Lal Kuan area in Pul Prahaldpur.

"Search for other accused persons is underway. The matter is being probed from all possible angles and family members of the victims are being questioned. CCTV footage from the area is being scanned to know more and trace the absconding accused. 

The body has been sent for post-mortem and the motive behind the murder, which prima facie appears to be personal enmity, is being ascertained," Biswal said.
