2 minors dead, another critical after getting hit by truck

Two minor boys lost their lives and one was critically injured after a speeding truck rammed into them on Thursday morning in South-West Delhi's Sagarpur Area.

According to the police, the incident occurred at around 10 am on Thursday when the trio was triple riding a bike. The speeding truck bearing number DL 1L M5685 was heading towards Najafgarh area when it rammed the motorcyclists from behind. Monu (15) was riding the bike, and Firoz (17) was sitting behind him. The second pillion, Rohit (16) was thrown off the bike while the two others were crushed under the wheels.

Police were informed and the three were rushed to a nearby hospital. Monu and Firoz were declared dead on arrival while Rohit sustained injuries and is recuperating at a city hospital.

The trio studied at a school in the area but did not attend it regularly. "The accused truck driver Ayodhya, was arrested by the police. A case under the appropriate sections under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered. Since Rohit is in a state of shock, we are waiting for him to recover in order to record his statement," said Milind Dumbre, DCP South West.

In another incident reported from South East Delhi's Sarita Vihar area, a 41-year-old man died after the motorcycle he was riding on had a collision with a truck. The incident was reported on Thursday afternoon near DLF Towers. The deceased has been identified as Gopal Prasad, a resident of Faridabad. The driver of the truck, identified as Virendra Singh (24), a resident of Aligarh was arrested by the police soon after the incident.
