Rohit Sharma's nightmare tour of South Africa ended on a predictable note on Saturday. With another failure with the bat, of course.
The right-hander, leading India in the absence of an injured Virat Kohli, got out for 11 in the third and final T20 in Cape Town.
Rohit's dismissal on Saturday was pretty much identical to the way he got out in the second T20 - LBW to a fast, darting delivery from Junior Dala.
The 30-year-old opener got off to a promising, though, picking up two boundaries in the first over bowled by Chris Morris. Barring one hundred in the ODI series, Rohit had failed in 11 innings across formats. His start in the final match of the tour gave hope to his fans of a respectable finish. But it wasn't to be.
Rohit yet again perished in a frustrating manner. The feet didn't move from the popping crease, and the ball crashed into the pads before his 'lazy' bat-swing completed his attempted stroke.
Twitterati always has a good time trolling Rohit. With the Mumbaikar failing almost every time he's stepped out to bat on this tour, it's almost as if netizens keep a joke ready as he walks out to the middle. Saturday was no different.
Full credit to Rohit Sharma. captaincy pressure doesn't impact his form. #Legend @coolfunnytshirt

Captaincy never affected Rohit Sharma's batting, he continues to get out on 10-15 runs.#INDvSA

Runs and centuries are not everything. Rohit Sharma valiantly faced the wrath of Junior Dala while Virat Kohli ran away. True hero Rohit.

After Watching His Consistent Performance, I Won't Be Surprised If Rohit Sharma Misses Out The Next Match Due To Stiff Back. #INDvSA #INDvsSA #SAvIND #SAvsIND
Rohit Sharma is national burden in the indian team. Not a good player for overseas conditions. What Talent? Too much technical flaws in his batting.Should be dropped now.#INDvSA #SAvIND

South African captain JP Duminy won the toss and elected to field in the third and final T20 at Newlands, Cape Town. With the three-match series delectably placed at 1-1, both team's will look to give their all in the 'final'.
India went in with three changes on Saturday. While Kohli was forced to sit out with a stiff back, Yuzvendra Chahal and Jaydev Unadkat were benched because of their horrendous performance in the second T20 in Centurion. Dinesh Karthik and Axar Patel got their first games on the tour, while Jasprit Bumrah made a comeback after injury forced him out of the previous game.
South Africa also made two changes as they replaced JJ Smuts and Dane Patterson with Christiaan Jonker, who will make his debut, and Aaron Phangiso.
India: Rohit Sharma (C), Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Manish Pandey, Dinesh Karthik, MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur.
South Africa: JP Duminy (C), Reeza Hendricks, David Miller, Heinrich Klaasen, Farhaan Behardien, Christiaan Jonker, Andile Phehlukwayo, Aaron Phangiso, Chris Morris, Junior Dala, Tabraiz Shamsi.
