WATCH | Ice Cricket Challenge: When Ranveer Singh played ice cricket at St Moritz for 'Dugna Lagaan'

On Thursday, some of cricket’s biggest names featured in a Twenty20 match played on an unusual surface- ice. 

Cricket legends like Virender Sehwag, Jacques Kallis, Shahid Afridi, Mike Hussey, Andrew Symonds, Shoaib Akhtar and Graeme Smith took part in the match. 

The match that took place between teams led by Shahid Afridi and Virender Sehwag took place on a frozen lake in St. Moritz. The lake was transformed into a cricket field for the clash, with a strip of artificial turf acting as the ‘pitch’.

However, the concept is not something new, the cricket on ice has been around for more than 25 years old. 

In fact, Indian actor Ranveer Singh already played cricket in ice - at the same venue. 

The actor who was in Switzerland last year played cricket on a snow-clad pitch in St. Moritz. In the video, Ranveer was seen facing off against Rohan Shreshtha. And the prize at stake- wait for it- Dugna Lagaan.  

"If Ranveer wins today, what's at stake? What if I win?" he asks. "Hum tumko dugna lagaan dega," says a player from the opposing team.
