Fans came together with the cricketing fraternity to wish former Indian middle-order batsman Mohammad Kaif a happy birthday on Friday.

Kaif, who is hailed as one of the finest fielders India has ever produced, turned 37 on Friday.

Among the many wishes that flooded the Uttar Pradesh lad's timeline was one by former Australian opener Matthew Hayden.

Reflecting on the intense rivalry India and Australia shared during their playing days, Hayden apologised to Kaif for 'terrifying' him at bat-pad all those years.

"Happy Birthday @MohammadKaif I'm sorry for terrifying you at bat pad for all@those years???? Have a wonderful year full happiness and joy!!!," Hayden wrote on Twitter.

Kaif was quick to respond to Hayden's good-humoured banter and reminded the burly Aussie that he terrified bowlers all around the world too. "Haha..Thank you @HaydosTweets . You terrified not just me but bowlers all around the world. So relaxing to see this on the mic version of you :)," replied Kaif.
