Sona BLW Precision Forgings a part of Sona Group, has augmented production capacity at its Hungary plant by 40 per cent thus taking the total capacity to 3.9 million pieces per year.

The boost in production capacity of the manufacturing unit has resulted in total capacity of 3.9 million pieces per year with a targeted annual sale of 1.5 billion Hungarian Forint.

"Our Hungary plant expansion offers us advantages to maintain cost-efficiency, transfer of certain aspects of our production and also remain close to the market," Sona Group Group CEO Sunjay Kapur said in a statement.

In three years, the company plans to double production capacity at the Hungary manufacturing facility to 7.8 million pieces per year.

Sona BLW exports auto components to leading global automotive players such as MAN, Scania, Daimler, John Deere, American Axle, Linamar, CNH and DANA's.

The company's customer base also includes key OEMs such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata, TAFE, Mahindra & Mahindra, ITL, John Deere, Escorts, DICV Trucks India, Volvo Eicher and New Holland India.
