Air Works has 17 aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) hangars across India and other countries.
It provides a range of services including airline and business aircraft MRO, commercial and business aircraft asset management.
With Gurgaon-based airline SpiceJet's Boeing 737 aircraft, bearing registration VT-SLB, rolling out of Air Works' Base Maintenance facility at Hosur mid-last month, the company successfully completed its 200th base maintenance check, a release said.
Base maintenance is also known as heavy or hanger maintenance.
The company's Hosur maintenance facility has the approval from European aviation regulator EASA besides India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
"This is a proud and a momentous step for us. We are thankful to SpiceJet for making us their partner of choice in this endeavour," said Air Works Executive Vice President Anand Bhaskar.
He also said that the aviation industry is likely to grow further and expand to tier-II cities in view of the encouraging policy moves outlined in the National Civil Aviation Policy and regional connectivity scheme UDAN.
"We appreciate the quick turn-around times and their world class MRO facility. I look forward to sustaining our engagement with them in the future," said SpiceJet Chairman Ajay Singh.
He also said with Air Works completing the heavy maintenance work in six days as compared to the scheduled time of seven days, the time saving resulted in airline earning an extra day's worth of revenue from the aircraft.
Air Works offers base maintenance services on B737, A320, ATR42/72 aircraft at Hosur (near Bengaluru), and line maintenance services on A320, A330, A340, B737, B777, B787, and ATR72 aircraft across 18 international airports in India for domestic and international operators.
The company also said in the release that its MRO business clocked revenues to the tune of Rs 600 crore last fiscal, adding the existing order backlog stands at around Rs 1,800 crore.
