Ever since Irrfan Khan released a statement saying that he has been diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Tumour and getting his treatment abroad, rumour mills have been abuzz about his Vishal Bhardwaj film with Deepika Padukone being shelved.
Vishal Bhardwaj’s adaptation of crime reporter author Hussain Zaidi’s gangster story, Sapna Didi, featuring Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan was to go on floors Vishal took to Twitter and slam reports of the film being shelved and said that Irrfan is a warrior and we know he will conquer his battle. The filmmaker tweeted, “Irrfan is a warrior and we know he will conquer this battle. Therefore @deepikapadukone, Prernaa @kriarj and I have decided to reschedule our film and start with renewed energy and celebration when our warrior returns as a winner”.
Co-producer Prernaa told news agency that Vishal only wants to work with Irrfan in this film. She said, “I met Irrfan through Vishal. From Day one, Vishal was sure that Irrfan was going to be the one and only choice for this role. And that’s the way it’s going to remain. I can’t wait to start our film with him.”

Recently Irrfan’s released an official statement to reveal the rare disease he is suffering from to put an end to speculations around his health scare. He wrote on Twitter, “The unexpected makes us grow, which is what the past few days have been about. Learning that I have been diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Tumour as of now has admittedly been difficult, but the love and strength of those around me and that I found within me has brought me to a place of hope. The journey of this is taking me out of the country, and I request everyone to continue sending their wishes. As for the rumours that were floated NEURO is not always about the brain and googling is the easiest way to do research. To those who waited for my words, I hope to be back with more stories to tell”.
