Akshaye Khanna, who was last seen in the role of an investigating officer in the Ittefaq remake, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha, is all set to come together with Richa Chadha in his next. Recent reports suggest that both Akshaye and Richa will be collaborating for a film titled Section 375, which is touted to be a rape suspense drama.

Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak are said to be producing the film which is to be directed by Manish Gupta. A Deccan Chronicle report suggests that the film will deal with the misuse of rape laws by men and women in India.

The report further adds that the story of Section 375 revolves around an ambiguous rape case, which leaves the judges in a fix since they're unable to decide if the incident should be termed as rape or consensual sex. Both Akshaye and Richa are said to be playing the roles of lawyers, who'll be seen locking horns against each other in the court.

The report quoted Manish as saying, "Rape laws are being misused by men and women alike leaving the judiciary and police confused as to which rape case is genuine and which is fake."

The filmmaker also added hat he had attended several court hearings in the past two years to research for his film. He also informed that he's met survivors, their families, those who're accused of rape and the lawyers who represent both the sides.
