Real reason why Sushant Singh Rajput’s next film Chanda Mama Door Ke hasn’t found a leading lady yet

Sushant Singh Rajput is gearing up for his space drama Chanda Mama Door Ke. The actor is planning a trip to NASA as part of his prep for the role. While he, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and R Madhavan have been finalised for the space adventure, they are still scouting for a leading lady. Says a source, “The makers have approached several young actresses but nobody has shown keen interest in the film as yet. They are still on the lookout for a familiar face but might have to settle for a newcomer.”

Among the actresses approached are Fatima Sana Shaikh and Nidhhi Agerwal. The khabri reveals, “Fatima was already on board for Thugs of Hindostan. Plus, the role of the girl might be pivotal, but it’s a small role. So it didn’t interest her.”

As for Nidhhi, the source says, “The character has short hair, and the makers want the heroine to cut her hair short (like Fatima in Dangal). Nidhhi has signed a few brands and she can’t cut her hair because of her contract. So, she also opted out of the film.” Fatima, too, was reluctant to chop her hair. The source adds, “Fatima had short hair in Dangal. While she is wearing a wig for TOH, she is growing her hair now, and doesn’t want to crop it again.”
