Now that Padmavat is hitting theatres on January 25, the makers of DaasDev starring Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari and Rahul Bhat have moved their release date. The film was originally slated to release on February 16 but Padmavat’s date has led to a domino effect in the industry. Firstly, Aiyaary, which was to release alongside Pad Man on January 25, has been pushed to February 9. Says a source, “When big films release around the same time the number of screens get divided. Padmavat and Pad Man are expected to run for at least two weeks and Aiyaary, which comes after that is also a big film. Moreover, another movie Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety is releasing on the same day. Between all these releases, a small film like DaasDev will not get enough screens. So, they have decided to postpone their release by a few weeks. Instead of February 9, it will now release on March 2.”

Confirms Sudhir, “The entire team is thrilled with the news of the official release of Padmavat. We have all rooted for this decision and as a fraternity are happy the film is coming to theatres soon. So in keeping with that and to ensure our film too receives its share, we considered and finalised the push to March 2. Now we are all gearing up for the new date and will put in all our energies towards it.”
