While Deepika Padukone fans couldn't take their eyes off the actress doing Ghoomar for Sanjay Leela Bhansali film 'Padmaavat', this song remained the centre of all controversies around the film.

Rajput royalty raised objections to Queen Padmini's character performing before an audience as according to their history, none of the Rajput maharanis has ever danced in front of anyone. Many even raised to Bhansali's leading lady flaunting her bare midriff while performing Ghoomar. So after a U/A certificate from Central Board of Certification, team Bhansali not just revealed the new title Padmaavat and 6 disclaimers for the film which clarify that the film is based on the epic Padmavat by Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi which is a work of fiction and is as an ode to the famed valour, legacy and courage of Rajputs.

Makers of Padmaavat have also revealed the new Ghoomar. Thanks to money and time invested in good VFX, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor didn't need to reshoot for the entire song sequence again and the controversial song got modified according to CBFC's guidelines. Deepika's midriff has got covered in the new version of the song.

While sharing her experience about shooting the song Deepika had earlier said, “It has been one of the most difficult song sequences that Sanjay sir and I have shot for. The shooting of the film began with this song and I will never forget that day. I remember approaching my mark for the first shot and suddenly, I felt a chill run through my body. It was almost as if Padmavati’s soul had entered my body. That feeling still lingers and will continue for years to come.”
