From Madhur Bhandarkar to Karan Johar, Bollywood celebrities hailed Supreme Court's decision to suspend ban on Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Padmaavat. The film which has been the centre of controversies for the last few months will now get a pan India release on January 25th. But actor Saif Ali Khan being the royal family of Pataudi has a different take on the film.

In an interview to News18, Nawab of Pataudi said that when one decided to make a film about a Queen , it comes with a responsibility to portray her in a certain way. In midst of various Rajput communities protesting against Bhansali's film which they feel is distorting history, Saif Ali Khan said, "You can't appropriate history. You can't say she did this, did that. It's safer not calling her that."

Deepika Padukone who plays the role of Queen Padmini in the film has already irked the royal family of Jaipur, who said that Rajput Queen never dances in front of a court , being royalty she remains a part of the audience. Citing an example of his own family story if ever gets depicted on the big screen, Saif Ali Khan also told News 18, "If you make a film on Tiger Pataudi (his late father), then you might as well be honest to what he was. If you are not then you might offend his family." Saif also added "I don't even know if it is fiction, and the line between fiction and facts is blurred. So there are certain topics, certain areas."

Meanwhile, Karni Sena continues to protest against screening of Padmaavat. A day after attacking cinema hall in Muzaffarpur town, they have even said that CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi will not be allowed to enter Jaipur Literature Fetsival which begins end of this month and Bhansali will not be allowed to shoot in Rajasthan ever again.

Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh starrer is based on Sufi poet Muhammed Jayasi's 'Padmavat', which is a revered work of fiction. Padmaavat is all set to release on January 25th in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
