A lot of recent Bollywood movies have included the revamped versions of old classic songs in their music albums, in order to cash in on the nostalgia factor. While a few of them turned out to be huge hit among the youth, most of them earned flak for ruining the original melodies. The most recent song to be recreated is Madhuri Dixit Nene's iconic dance number Ek Do Teen from the N Chandra directorial Tezaab. While the original has been immensely loved because of Madhuri's classic moves, the recreated version has Jacqueline Fernandez, amping up the oomph and sexiness quotient.
While fans have been waiting for Madhuri's reaction on the same, netizens have slammed the recreated version of Ek Do Teen. Even Jacqueline's hot bod couldn't stop the backlash, especially on social media. The director of the Madhuri Dixit film, N Chandra too has trashed the rehashed version of Ek Do Teen featuring Jacqueline, calling it "crass".
Now, Madhuri's Tezaab co-star Anil Kapoor has come out in favour of the recreated song. Anil took to his Twitter account to share the link of the music video, featring Jackie and wrote alongside, "What a momentous task it was to follow in @MadhuriDixit's footsteps, and @Asli_Jacqueline has done it exceptionally! It takes a lot of courage & conviction to attempt to recreate an iconic song that so many people have loved for so long! #EkDoTeen"
Earlier, Jacqueline's Race 3 co-star had also come out in favour of the song. Salman had tweeted, "Loved d song, Jackie has done full justice 2 d legendary moves of Saroj khan difficult to match Madhuri. Nice 2 see Varun n Jackie to our songs makes us proud n keeps d songs alive n fans listening, dancing n having a blast. Makes me proud . Enjoy Karo! (sic)”
