Kiara Advani on link-up rumours with Sooraj Pancholi: 'I am not dating Sooraj'

About a month-and-a-half ago, a paparazzi picture of Sooraj Pancholi and Kiara Advani went viral, spiralling news of them dating each other. The duo had gone to a Mumbai restaurant for lunch and didn’t know that they were being papped. While rumours of their alleged link-up started doing the rounds, both of them maintained silence on the matter.

We recently spoke to Kiara and asked her the inevitable question. She laughed it off, “No, I am not dating Sooraj. All these stories are completely baseless and untrue. But I do understand that it’s a part and parcel of the job.”

Prod her about how they reacted to the stories and she tells us, “We both laughed it off. We were like, ‘What’s going on?’ We had just met for lunch because we had to discuss some work-related things. We weren’t even alone. There were others joining us. But the photographers clicked only the two of us so they thought something is cooking.”

She chuckles, “We didn’t even know there were photographers around. If they had asked us, I would have happily posed and the pictures would have, at least, been better.”

There were also reports that Sooraj and Kiara are teaming up for Prabhu Dheva's next. But the film, which was supposed to go on floors around September-October, has been pushed ahead. She says, “I haven't signed the film yet. But the discussions are on. Currently, I am shooting a film down South with Mahesh Babu. We’re figuring out the dates. I am not free until February-March so we need to check all of that. It’s all work in progress.”
