From Kareena Kapoor Khan to Jacqueline Fernandez, from Katrina Kaif to Sridevi, Bollywood actresses explored their inherent feminine side by opting for a pale pink pout with a hint of sparkle at a recently-held red carpet event. While some like Bebo experimented with a coral hue, others like Bhumi Pednekar matched the jewel tones of her outfit with the shimmer on her lips.

Even Mouni Roy, Yami Gautam, Urvashi Rautela and Neetu Chandra couldn’t resist the charm of the all-pervading soft and romantic tone. Is this trend having a moment in the beauty landscape or is it just a flash in the pan and actresses stuck to the evening’s theme, which celebrated their femininity? We speak to experts...

EXUDES FRESHNESS

Both young girls and older women can opt for a pale pink lip gloss as it adds freshness and a youthful appeal. Make-up maven Clint Fernandes shares, “Choose a less translucent colour as it gives it a 3D effect.

Apply it to the bow of the lip which creates a nice pout without being overpowering. Layer it on a creme lip colour. Also, it works for both day and night. I like Urvashi's make-up - it's vampy-yet-fun at the same time. Having said that, I'd like to add that Bhumi Pednekar and Neetu Chandra too did a great job with their lip gloss."

He adds, "Even if you want to opt for strong smokey eyes, avoid doing the lower lids and go easy on the lips. Blend the smokey effect properly and avoid too much of highlighter and don't overdo the blush."

APT FOR THE RED CARPET

It's winter time and for a red carpet outing, one veers towards gowns, which are elaborate so keeping rest of the look minimal seems like a plausible idea. "You have to go subtle on your face and embrace a soft feminine dewy look. I love Kareena's take on it as she made it a little cherry. A plain pink tend to look a tad boring. Lip gloss is one vanity essential which one can wear all year around," says designer Arpita Mehta.

NEVER GOES OUT OF STYLE

Designer Aniket Satam says, "Pink lips have always been in as it's a timeless look. Our actresses have a soft corner for these as it underlines their femininity and grace. It's subtle and striking unlike the bold red pout counterpart.

Going as per the event which was celebrating actresses in Bollywood, pink lips really stood out without being too bold and overwhelming. It is good to see people sport classic shades cosmetics over the on-trend overdose of dark mouth and vampire lips. The pink lips accentuated their femininity and complemented their outfits."
