Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham turns 16: Karan Johar revives memories with unseen photos

In the times when Ekta Kapoor's soap operas about big fat Indian families ruled the small screen, filmmaker Karan Johar decided to cash on the mood of the nation on big screen. In 2001,he directed one of the most popular family drama called Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. 

Immediately after his debut film, 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', KJo got the biggest stars from all generations come together for his film, K3G. Kjo's Raichand family boasts of Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor Khan and Rani Mukherji in a brief role. The film is one of the biggest blockbusters and audience loves to watch the film everytime it plays on TV.

On Thursday, the film's director went down the memory lane as he tweeted, " #I6yearsofK3G....a film that has is exceptionally close to my heart....have the most beautiful memories...thank you @SrBachchan @iamsrk @iHrithik @kajol #jayaaunty #kareena #rani for making my experience so special....(sic)"

Dharma Productions also shared a deleted scene from the film which never made the final cut because the film had already become lengthy. In the video, KJo talks about how the scene was one of his favourites and how he had found it funny but the rest of the crew had convinced him to drop it from the final cut.
