'Damini' director Rajkumar Santoshi hospitalised

While Bollywood is still mourning the lose of Sridevi, filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi was admitted to Nanavati Hospital for a heart ailment on Wednesday. "He has been admitted to the hospital for a heart- related problem. We can't share any further information at the moment," a hospital official said.

While Bollywood is still mourning the lose of Sridevi, filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi was admitted to Nanavati Hospital for a heart ailment on Wednesday. "He has been admitted to the hospital for a heart- related problem. We can't share any further information at the moment," a hospital official said. 

Santoshi, who started his career as an assistant director for Govind Nihlani's "Ardh Satya" (1982), is known for hit films such as "Ghayal", "Damini" and the cult comedy "Andaz Apna Apna".
After a hiatus, he returned to direction in 2013 with "Phata Poster Nikla Hero" starring Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D'Cruz.

Recently the filmmaker announced his collaboration with Aanand L Rai productions. Confirming the news, trade analyst Taran Adarsh too took to Twitter to share the news and wrote, “Now this is BIG NEWS… Rajkumar Santoshi and Aanand L Rai join hands for a film project… Santoshi to direct a film for Aanand’s production outfit Colour Yellow.”

Apparently, Rajkumar Santoshi has already given his nod and revealed to the daily, “Aanand and I and have a great connect and mutual admiration for each other’s work. I am happy to take this ambitious project forward with him.” Aanand  L Rai too shared his excitement on collaborating with the ace filmmaker and said, “I have grown watching Rajji’s films and now, working with him is an honour. ”

Their film is expected to go on floors this year.
