Akshay Oberoi: If actors turn down a part, that’s the part I want

Last year Karan Johar revealed that six actors including Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan, Farhan Akhtar and others turned down Fawad Khan’s role in Kapoor & Sons because the character was gay and the actors felt it might harm their image. However, Akshay Kumar played a gay character in Dishoom and it was the highlight of the film. Now, his namesake Akshay Oberoi, who has played a queer character in a short film, says, “I find it completely ridiculous to hear an actor saying, ‘Main yeh nahi karunga’. If actors turn down a part, that’s the part I want. I want to do stuff that no one else wants to do.”
