A R Rahman celebrates 25 years of music

A R Rahman has completed 25 years in music and is all set to perform a two-hour concert in New York at an awards event today. The concert will feature popular Bollywood singers including Hariharan, Kailesh Kher, Mika Singh, Mohit Chauhan, Jonita Gandhi, Neeti Mohan and Javed Ali, etc. In an interview to the news channel Wion, he said, “My journey for 25 years has been about composing. I’m an educator, too, I have a conservatory, and a school for underpriviledged children. We have a company where some of the alumni and I composed a TV episode called Daughters of Destiny for Hollywood director Vanessa Roth. So all this stuff is happening and I want to go 50/50. I want to be this mentor and composer-singer.”
