Bangalore RD350 Club in collaboration with Team Topenders and Jawa Nanna Jeeva Motorcycle Club, have come forward to organise the trip to show their gratitude towards freedom fighters who fought for the country’s independence, 69 years ago.

Speaking to iamin, S Sharath, 32, core committee member of Jawa Nanna Jeeva Motorcycle Club said, “We have been involved in the Independence Day Ride since 2009. This year a lot of other bike clubs have shown interest in the event, so we have decided to try to make it to the Limca Book of World Records for the largest bike assembled at a spot.”

He added, “The only rule that applies to this ride is that every rider and pillion rider will have to wear helmets compulsorily and over-speeding is completely restricted. The most important aspect is that the biker should ensure that he is carrying adequate legal documents along with him or her. The age of the riders should be a minimum of 18. Safety is the first priority for this initiative so that every biker can enjoy the ride as well as stay safe.”

1,100 vehicles are required to be assembled at the spot to break the previous record. V Manjunath, 33, another member of Jawa Nanna Jeeva Motorcycle Club said, “We are expecting more than 2,000 bikes to gather this time to make our way into the prestigious Limca Book of World Records. Last year there were a lot of senior citizens actively taking part in the event, to show solidarity with the cause. 38 bike clubs are taking part in achieving this feat and at the same time to celebrate Independence Day.”
